tumblr? I didn’t even know hr.

Ok, I’ve been fascinated with this “tumblr” thing for months now. I first read about it in an article on blogging and David Karp in Maxim magazine and decided to check it out. I’d never thought about starting a blog before but the concept intrigued me.

I like to write (note- I’m aware that liking to write and being good at writing are not the same thing). I like to find funny, oddball, and perverse things on Al Gore’s wondrous invention- The WorldWideWeb. I like to save the cool things I find. I like to take pictures. I could begin to blog and keep all of that shit in one place. Then I could share all of said shit with the hordes of people dying to view my innermost thoughts and skewed perspectives.

Ok perhaps “hordes” in the plural sense is too strong, but there has gotta be a horde waiting for a blog like mine. It’s definitely a pack of folks though, right? At the very least there has to be a loosely grouped band of transient thinkers bored enough to read my middle school level witty prose until something better comes along. So…

…where was I? Oh yeah, the blog thing. After reading about tumblr in Maxim I went to tumblr.com and just started reading and enjoying countless tumblrs. There are some creative, funny, smart, and gorgeous peoples out there in tumblrland. My top three would have to be carlovely, lickystickypickyme, and laughingcity. After gathering inspiration and ideas from these 3 wonderful ladies and many more fine bloggers out there, I have reached the point where I am today; my first post on my brand spanking new blog.

Is it way too long? Yes it is. Is it filled with nonsense? Yes, yes it is. Is it the first step in my diabolical plan to…Hey! Are those doughnuts?
